

British music to the fore!
In September the Argovia Philharmonic and Douglas Bostock launched the new season, which is dedicated to British music. Edward Gregson, a good friend of Douglas Bostock's, was present or the first Swiss performance of his Saxophone Concerto (played by Jess Gillam). Other rarities such as Parry's Symphonic Variations and Bantock's "Pagan Symphony" also adorned the programme.


Opera Gala in Tokyo
Douglas Bostock stood in at the last moment for the indisposed Maestro Taijiro Iimori at two Gala Concerts of the New National Theatre Opera Studio in Tokyo's Opera Palace on 16th and 17th September. Guests from Las Scala Milan, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Bavarian State Opera joined their Japanese colleagues, the Geidai Philharmonia and a special chorus for the occasion. The concerts were deemed a triumphant success. Sadly, the Japanese composer, Isao Matsush

Return to Portugal
After a conducting masterclass and concert in North Portugal in March, Douglas Bostock returned to the country at the end of August to lead a major youth orchestra summer camp "Festival BSP Junior" with 160 young musicians. It was also the opportunity to meet up with many good Portuguese friends and colleagues.
