In November Douglas Bostock returned to the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra, Denmark for concerts of music by Arnold, Britten and Mozart in North Germany.

During a month in Japan in November / December Douglas Bostock conducted a highly acclaimed performance of Beethoven¡¯s 9th Symphony in Niigata and the 103rd Regular Concert of TKWO in Tokyo, including Koyama¡¯s rarely heard ¡°Nomen¡±, Symphony No. 20 by Alan Hovhaness and the Japanese premiere of ¡°Lauda, Sion¡± by Jiř¨ª Gemrot. He also directed the 5th Tokyo Conducting Master Class and taught at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

From April 2010 Douglas Bostock has been named as Visiting Professor (Orchestral Conducting) at Geidai Music University in Tokyo.

The year ended with concerts in which Douglas Bostock conducted the Aargau Symphony Orchestra in Switzerland, including music by Korngold, Glazunov and Waldteufel.
