
In December 2007 Douglas Bostock conducted
performances of Beethoven's 9th Symphony to
packed houses in the Gewandhaus Leipzig and Berlin's
Konzerthaus. The performances received standing ovations.
In
January 2008 the Aargau Symphony Orchestra and the Guarneri
Trio were conducted by Douglas Bostock in a series of highly
successful concerts in Switzerland with works by Mozart,
Stravinsky and Beethoven. The Neue Z邦richer Zeitung reported
in glowing terms.

In February Douglas Bostock conducted the
European premiere of "Hiten-no mai" by Isao Matsushita
together with music by Edward Gregson, Percy Grainger, Bin
Kaneda and David Bedford in a programme "Masterpieces from
England and Japan" in concerts in South Germany.
The March subscription concerts by the Aarau Symphony
Orchestra included works by Brahms, Schumann and Barber as
well as the the world premiere of "Gloriosa" by the Japanese
composer, Yasuhide Ito in the new version for symphony
orchestra and male chorus, commissioned by Douglas Bostock.
