Grainger_Fest in Singapore

Celebrating the 140th anniversary of the birth of the Australian composer, Percy Grainger, Douglas Bostock put together and conducted a special concert with the Central Band of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in the Esplanade Concert Hall, Singapore, on 18th September. The mammoth programme comprised of all Grainger's original works for wind band (18 in total) and was presented with two intervals. In addition, Douglas gave a pre-concert talk about the composer as a curtain raiser to the almost 4-hour event. It is possibly the first time that all these works have been played in one concert ever.

During his time in Singapore, Douglas was appointed as Honorary Guest Conductor of the SAF Central Band in recognition of many years of his work with them.
