Recording during Lockdown

Despite the stringent lockdown the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra and Douglas Bostock undertook two different recording projects at the end of January and beginning of February.

In a new video series called "Discovery" Douglas Bostock presents major works from the orchestra's repertoire, with played examples, followed by a complete performance of the work. Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony was chosen as the first instalment.

Volume 4 of "British Music for Strings" for the German CPO label includes six works being recorded for the first time for CD, Douglas Bostock and the orchestra enjoyed discovering wonderful music by Imogen Holst, Thomas Pitfield, Thomas Dunhill, Gordon Jacob, Alan Bush, and Cecil Armstrong Gibbs. The CD will be released later this year.
