On the 26th August friends of the music of the Swiss composer, artist and author, Peter Mieg (1906-1990) met for the last time at the villa beneath Lenzburg castle in Switzerland where Mieg lived for many years. The Mieg Foundation is selling the property and will use the funds to support performances, publication and recording of his music. Douglas Bostock was among the guests, having been particularly associated with Mieg's music in recent years.
Douglas Bostock spent much of July in The Netherlands, both at WMC in Kerkrade and the WASBE Conference in Utrecht, teaching, adjudicating and conducting. Great to meet and work with the euphonium virtuoso, Steven Mead, and many of my students, colleagues, composers and friends from round the world, too.
